I am a young British soldier who is serving in Afghanistan. This place is quite dangerous and we get to spend very few hours resting. Even when one is resting, s/he is always alert because anything might happen which might require you get back to your duty station. This is quite tasking for most of us. However there is one thing which gives us some semblance of normalcy. This is the ability to watch UK TV abroad. Watching UK TV makes us feel as though we were at home.

I am thankful that our superiors thought it would be good for us to have UK TV abroad. At times I find myself drawn into the on-goings in the TV even when I am at my duty station. While the technology used to create films like “Wars of the World” was considered advanced for its time, the technology that was later used in movies like “ET” featured a higher level of computer animation. Based on the previous success of sci-fi films, there is expected to be a large number of movie releases launched in 2012 and 2013.

Whilst planning our wedding my husband and I deliberated over whether or not it was worth hiring a wedding photographer to take photos on our wedding day. In the end we made the decision that it would be worth having professional photos done as we wanted to be able to look back on our wedding day and remember it in all it’s glory. This was our theory at least and we used it to justify the expense of a professional wedding photographer. It is now three weeks after our wedding and I recieved a phonecall yesterday from our photographer alerting us to the fact our photos and wedding album were ready and he would drop them off at a suitable time. Keen to see the photos as soon as possible I asked if he could come over that evening, he did. All I can say is wow! Wedding photographers rock! Professional wedding photos were definitely worth the expense.
